This cover commemorates the 2nd anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing which took place on July 20, 1969. The cover is cancelled at the Kennedy Space Center, FL on July 20, 1971. Within the cancellation bars is a line drawing of a rocket launch, the NASA logo within a circular earth and the "KSA" (Kennedy Space Center) logo, all of which cancel the 8 cent "Flag Over White House" stamp - SC# 1338G.
The cachet is the multi-colored Apollo 11 shoulder patch with the Eagle landing on the moon with the Earth in the background. Above the patch, are the printed words "One Small Step For Man; One Giant Leap For Mankind". Below the patch are the printed names and titles of each of the three Apollo 11 astronauts. The words "2nd ANNIVERSARY First Moon Landing First Moon Walk" are typed in the address area of the cover.
