    APOLLO 11 TENTH ANNIVERSARY 5/19/79
    STIPEX STATION, NEW YORK EAGLE CANCELLATION
    FT. MCKINLEY FLAG STAMP SC# 1597
    This cover was cancelled at Stipex Station, Staten Island, New York on May 19, 1979, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Apollo 11 launch. The circular cancellation includes an Eagle landing on the Moon, an exact replica of the Apollo 11 shoulder patch and of the cachet.
    There is a second circular cancellation with the location and date of the cancel.
    The stamp is the 15 cent Ft. McKinley flag stamp SC# 1597.
    The central part of the cachet is a white and blue copy of the Apollo 11 Eagle shoulder patch. Above the patch is printed
    "Commemorating the 10th Anniversary of the
    First Manned Lunar Landing Mission July 20,
    1969".
    Below the shoulder patch
    is printed
    "Apollo 11 Crew - Astronauts Neil
    Armstrong,
    Edwin (Buzz) Aldrin and Michael Collins".
