This cover was cancelled at Museum Station, Wapakoneta, Ohio, the boyhood home of astronaut Neil Armstrong, on July 20, 1979, the 10th anniversary of the Apollo 11 launch. Wapakoneta is the location of the Neil Armstrong Air and Space Museum. The cancellation consists of the circular cancel with the date and location, an astronaut holding the American flag and 5 bars, between which is stamped "Tenth Anniversary - One Small Step for Man - One Giant Leap For Mankind - First Man Moon Landing".
The stamp is the 15 cent Ft. McKinley flag stamp SC# 1597.
The central part of the cachet is a white and blue copy of the Apollo 11 Eagle shoulder patch. Above the patch is printed "Commemoration the 10th Anniversary of the First Manned Lunar Landing Mission July 20, 1969". Below the shoulder patch is printed "Apollo 11 Crew - Astronauts Neil Armstrong, Edwin (Buzz) Aldrin and Michael Collins".
The cover is unsealed and unaddressed.
