This cover has a gray colored cachet that shows the cratered surface of the Moon and the American Flag that was planted on the Moon and the first step taken on the Moon during the Apollo 11 mission.
Above the cachet is printed "RENDEZVOUS IN SPACE" and below the cachet is printed "After leaving the U.S. flag and man foot prints on moon".
The stamp is the 1969 "Moon Surface and Earth" stamp issued on May 5, 1969 to honor the successful Apollo 8 mission. The stamp was "designed by Leonard E. Buckley after a photograph by the Apollo 8 astronauts". (
