    Blacksmith Rivet Header Holding Tool for Making Rivet Heads
    This listing is for one tool.
    This tool allows you to form rivet heads without the steel slipping down in the tool..  It will hold the round stock firmly in your vise while you form the head to whatever shape you desire.
    There are five different length slots to choose from, 5/8 through 1 1/8".  Allow for 1 1/2 times the diameter of the rivet for button head rivets.  As an example, for forming a button, or dome head on 1/4" rivet shanks, the shortest hole is 5/8" deep.  If you insert a shank 1 inch long, you can make a rivet that fastens a total of 1/4" thickness and have the right amount of steel left to form button heads on both ends.   Using a shank 1 1/2" long in the 1 1/8" slot will fasten a total thickness of 3/4".
