COCA COLA SUPER RARE 1935 CANDY/ TOBACCO LARGE STORE SIGN.. Condition is "Used".
I BOUGHT THIS SIGN IN 2004 AND I AM NO COKE SIGN EXPERT BUT I DO HAVE THE DESCRIPTION GIVEN BY THE FORMER OWNER THAT I PURCHASED IT FROM WHICH IS AS FOLLOWS:
“This is a tin 1935 Drink Coca Cola store sign that has Candy & Tobacco at the very top and a large Coke bottle on the far left side. (He added) “This is the second sign I had like this” . “It is framed in a very old wood frame & I cannot find it in my reference book but can assure you it is the real deal”. “ It measures 72 inches long and 30 inches high”. “There are the words , Coca Cola co on the left bottom, made in USA on the middle bottom & AAW1935 on the right bottom “.” There are 3 small nail holes at the top above Coca Cola where the 2 color lines run above Coca Cola , 4 small circles of missing paint on the bottle, 2 small circles of missing paint on the O in cola, &3 small scuff marks in the O in coca. The colors are VERY VIBRANT”. The foregoing is the exact description from the previous seller (17 years ago) when I purchased the sign on eBay.
Bidders please look at the photographs carefully. There are light surface scratches and scrapes to small paint chips that are visible in the photographs. This sign is 85 years old and has survived in very good condition showing quite nicely with good bright color.
