NOTE
:Â eBay, NOT the seller, now is responsible for collecting this--SELLER can NOT control this !!
The link to the information is available at
https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/paying-items/paying-tax-ebay-purchases?id=4771
BTW--ignore eBay's claim of how many have been sold--as eBay seems to "forget" ? Over 1,300 have been built/sold--as it is also offered elsewhere !
++ have seen some 100 79M's with a 10078D ID sticker-- if it shows a "credit window" it's a 79M
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1st photo shows two, new, SINGLE BOARD, MCU, ( Micro Computer Unit), Gen 2's--component side (L), and display/keyboard side (R)--Original, three tier board shown, in center, and in last photo, is shown for comparison purposes only. This is a newly developed, and built, replacement computer board, for all Seeburg SMC type jukeboxes (SMC-1,-2,-3,-4, and 10079-M)( "Disco", "Phoenix", "Prelude", "DaVinchi"). This ONE board, replaces the original three board set. (NOTE: Everything inside the metal MCU box {except metal stand-offs, and nuts, used for mounting, the MCU}, is brand new !! Batt. holder, & power supply no longer used--removal is optional)
ADVANTAGES, over original MCU:
"--It works !!"Â (see our feedback)
TWO "Chips" ( aka "IC's") replace the approximately 40 chips, used on the original versions !
NO batteries used. All "defaults", as well as everything else, is easily settable, using just the service ("CPA") switches, and the keyboard. ( There are really no "defaults", as once set, that setting becomes the "default", which it will not "forget"!)
NO soldering required !
Almost any country's "coin system" is programmable.
True, Free play, or coin, settable-- Credit display shows "FP", when set to free play.
Display intensity is settable for room conditions.
Random auto-play is settable (on/off--sides A, B, or, A&B)
Timing between auto play selections, is settable (zero to 98 minutes).
Motor Save circuit, added.
.
Added "save credits", and "save selections made", settable options, for power off/on
Diagnostics mode added, and accessed same as are all other "set-ables".
It does everything the original MCU did--only better, plus there are the added features, as stated above, that were not available on the original.
The "Wall Box Adapter", mentioned in the User Manual, is no longer available. The Seeburg built "translator" ("blue box"), DEC combination, will work with our Gen 2, the same as with an original MCU.
The unit offered here, is sold in "kit form". Included is a "step by step installation"- instruction sheet, a "User's Manual", plus, 6, additional "special" 8/32 x 1/4 hex head, nuts (see ins. sheet). Not included, but needed, in most cases: a 1/4 inch nut driver ( or eq. "ignition wrench", or screwdriver), a tube of glue, and --- optional -- a pair of eye glasses to read the instructions !
EVERY THING, inside the metal MCU housing box, is replaced, with the exception of the six brass mounting studs, and mounting nuts. Battery holder/ power supply, & plug, is not re-used-may be removed, or not--optional . I will, for a price (depends on how/what the metal box needs-cleaning--paint ?), mount the new MCU, if you so desire. The Gen 2 MCU was designed by Data Sync Engineering, with collaboration by me, and another gentleman, who has since passed on. It has been in production since 2010. It is built by my wonderful wife, and myself, in Millbrae CA USA. Each and every one, has been extensively tested, by me, for at least, 12 hours -- within the last few days, no longer then 90 days ago ! Well over 1300, sold ! Only one (brand new), has been returned for repairs, and the gent admitted he "did something wrong"-- would NOT say, what (I figured out from the damage, what "musta happened". He failed to follow the instructions--- Did not check/mark, plugs, when removing from old MCU--turned power plug around and mounted it backwards, due to fact that "key" was missing from his plug) ! Two other, new , were sent back with the same problem, both owners "fessed up" ! . One "used" (7 year old) one, has now had a failure of one of the switches--replaced the switch, no problem.
Easy, step, by step installation instructions--takes about 15-20 minutes ( If you, read the Instruction Sheet,--FIRST--
). Basically a "Plug & Play installation" Only a 1/4 inch nut driver needed (in most cases), NO soldering needed !  Email assistance, FREE, if needed--But--PLEASE, READ, the instructions first !!
Also--I have no idea where eBay gets the "delivery in x number of days"--I ship paid for units, ASAP, usually within 24 hours, when units are available--check for availability above-- but have no control over when it will arrive !
Please note: NON-INSURED SHIPPING (via Priority Mail) TO THE USA, is as priced above, in a Priority Mail Envelope, and is NOT insured ! Insured for full value is .50, total, for S&H.
NOTE:
Payment of the lower charge signifies you do not wish to insure it and, that YOU are responsible for safe delivery, not me.
INTERNATIONAL: I WILL ship anywhere in the world --however, since eBay requires sellers to be responsible for delivery service, I need to require that all items be insured for full value, unless you specify that you accept responsibility for the item, when shipped. NOTE: BY NOT REQUESTING, "full insurance", commits the PURCHASER, NOT THE SELLER, FOR FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY LOSS/DAMAGE ! Shipping charge will be at my cost, rounded up to nearest dollar. You may select your favorite shipper, if the shipper operates here, or I will quote USPS/FEDEX, prices if requested. Whatever works best for you ! Ignore eBay's int. shipping price !
NOTE:Â I have no control over what any country's customs office, will, or will not do. Any/all fees are to be the buyers responsibility--
??Questions??--use eBay "questions"( Now: "contact seller"), and ask away, or, better yet, click on "seller's name", above, for more info (been told this only works if using a "computer" ?)!
I have been asked about "a warranty"-- One year, limited, no parts / labor charge, for repair, or replace, at my discretion, as long as not "abused", or "destroyed by acts of nature", fob, my shop. After that time--.00 maximum Labor, repair charge, + parts (Once again, limited, as above). ALL of above is also limited to "original purchaser"-- proof of purchase, may be required.  No other warranty, is either expressed, nor implied.
Payment: Cash/Check (US Bank # required), Postal M.O. (US funds), eBay Pay, or PayPal (in USD, only), within 3 days of purchase.
Unit can/will not, be shipped, till payment is confirmed ! "All sales final"
Thanks for considering--Ron Rich
Got a "note" from a person that had previously purchased one several years ago--note said-"It works flawlessly--need another one !, --for another machine-- lol"
Got a note from another gent, that basically said-- I have purchased three so far. First one over ten years ago, last one 4 years ago--all are still running perfectly-- need another one for a new customer---
A "cover my butt" note: I have described this unit honestly, to the best of my ability-- but it is the-- Purchaser -who is responsible for determining the suitability of this product. Neither the designers, manufacture, nor seller, will be responsible for injury, damage, loss, direct, or consequential, arising out of the use, or inability to use, this product. Instructions must be followed ! While this new Gen 2 MCU will "compensate" for some of the problems in the rest of the phonograph, it can not do so for all problems, that can occur outside of the MCU. All sales are final.
OK--gotta "A-nuther, complaint"--so I'll address it here-- The supplier has changed the color, several times, on the switch buttons, since this photo was taken--they are now either,
Orange
,
Yellow
,
Brown
, or, Black, or often a combination of colors ( I use what I'm supplied !), rather then the gray, shown in the photo here--SAME switch--I am assured !! --and BTW some "Caps" have shrunk in size and the color of the plastic shrink wrapping differs, from time to time too ! Also-- I no longer use the same address sticker, shown on these boards as I can no longer get it ! LOL--
