Description
2 dust seals for Seeburg M-100-A jukebox cartridge.Mounts inside the cartridge body to keep debris from fouling up the magnetic armature.
Sale is for 2 rubber seals. They are comprised of a very thin, soft, compliant rubber to the exact size as the originals. And a perfect-fit screw and nut to replace the rivet.
The demo photo (1st photo) shows a new seal on the left and an old crusty seal on the right. 2nd photo shows what you will receive.
Use contact cement inside the metal shell(s) to hold the seal in place. Once installed and assembled, the cantilever will press lightly into the new rubber seal; Use a fresh razorblade to cut a slit at the protrusion to allow the cantilever of your cartridge to pop through.
If your pickup is missing the damping compound, See my other auction for the damping goo that goes inside the coil, to dampen the cantilever from resonances (as was originally intended)! Grampian cutterheads use this same principle to get flat frequency response all the way to 16khz on records cut with a Grampian head (many Beatles singles for instance). The armature is "wild" and resonant at 9khz (almost +10dB), which allows the frequency range to reach 16khz, but the 9k must be "tamed," which is what the damping is for.
