Description
You are bidding on a group of three, used, Massachusetts Instant Scratch Lottery tickets issued in 1974/1975, as follows:1.
1. The Instant Game—an example of the first scratch ticket issued in Massachusetts. In fact, this ticket is an example of the first scratch ticket ever issued in the United States. It includes the traditional scratch area and also a removable stub containing one letter intended to help form special words to qualify for secondary prizes. This ticket has the letter “T”.
2.
The Instant Game, 7-11-21—There are two versions of this ticket, and both are included. The first states, on the back side, that a winning ticket must be claimed by June 24, 1975. The second ticket, which is very similar to the first ticket, states that a winning ticket must be redeemed by February 11, 1956. These tickets also include a stub containing one letter intended to help form special words to qualify for secondary prizes. These tickets also have the letter “T”.
All of these tickets are in exceptional condition. The perforations between each ticket and its stub have never been bent. There are no creases, tears, food stains, writing, watermarks or other imperfections. The front sides look like the tickets were bought yesterday. There is some typical discoloration on the back side due to long-term storage ticket-ticket contact.
These tickets will be a fabulous addition to any lottery ticket collection, or could be a very interesting conversation-piece in a frame!
